What is Herringbone Flooring?

Herringbone is an extremely popular design, and part of the classic designs associated with the Parquet flooring family. This look is similar to chevron flooring. In fact, to the untrained eye, the two appear the same.

But there are differences:

Your herringbone floor has a more discreet broken zig-zag pattern at a 90-degree angle, whereas with a chevron design, the planks form an exact point and are set at a 45-degree angle.
