Frequently Asked Questions about Hardwood Flooring

We’re based in Hurstpierpoint, just two miles west of the East Sussex border, so we can travel easily to any home or office throughout both adjacent Sussex counties. Get in touch if you’re slightly further afield, as we may be able to help.

On the whole, we meet the needs of domestic clients throughout the local area. Having said that, we’ve found that our wooden floors also look mighty fine in smaller, cosy cottages.

Don’t forget that we can supply and install floors in offices and commercial properties, too.

Now, that really is a hard question to answer and not one we can give concrete answers to. Sorry.

Obviously, a beautiful wooden floor will be a considered purchase, but it’s a choice that you will never, ever regret. Furthermore, it could be one of your best decisions ever. The cost of a real wood floor will depend on the size of the area that needs fitting, the condition of the subfloor and naturally, the products that you choose.

Nevertheless, we believe that our costs are highly competitive.

To be honest, both are excellent choices. However, engineered flooring just has the edge. The choice will reflect your needs, and your budget. This is one of the most common FAQs about hardwood flooring. Again, you’ll need to check with us but on the whole, a small project could be completed in as little as one day. If you’d like us to replace all the flooring in your home with wooden floors, you should allow at least two weeks.

In a word, no. Not at all. Don’t use water, though.

On a daily basis if you can, simply sweep with a dry cloth to keep dust and dirt at bay, always remembering to clean up spills immediately. You may wish to vacuum every week and use a wood floor cleaner once a month. We’ve got this covered in our How to Look After Your Wooden Floor post.

No, we only install new floors. Plus, we don’t currently offer sanding services.
